Manchester United should sign one of Benzema, Cavani or Ibrahimovic before the
While United captain Wayne Rooney may be enduring a personal nightmare start to the season the young Dutchman admits he’s leaning on the under fire England striker for advice as he finds his feet at Old Trafford and in the English Premier League.
The manager was disappointed in the performance of one his newer players Memphis Depay and stated after the match that: “Today he made not always the best choice”.
Scholes echoed his former team mate’s suggestions but maintained that United should consider a Swedish veteran to swell their striking ranks.
“I wonder if they could take a chance on Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a year”.
Scholes added: “There doesn’t look like there’s enough goals in the team at the moment, from any position”.
“When you look back you have to say it was one of those days but we have to start finishing”. They’ve lost two top-class centre-forwards in Falcao and Robin van Persie, ok Falcao wasn’t great while he was here but he has been a top centre-forward.
Scholes was not impressed with the way Van Gaal described United’s performance, and believes he needs to show what he is worth, especially after spending the money he has.
As for the Premier League, United are sitting pretty with seven points from the opening nine but there is a real need to increase the tempo and quality of United’s attack, a problem which by now Van Gaal should be well aware of.
After missing out to Chelsea in the hunt for Barcelona forward Pedro United’s interest has moved on to Sadio Mane.
“He said “fantastic” a few times, but I don’t think there was anything fantastic about it at all”.
