Manchester United still keen on Otamendi
But Valencia club legend Mario Kempes is convinced Otamendi will commit his future to the La Liga outfit.
However compatriot Kempes, who had two spells at Valencia during the late-70s and early-80s, believes Otamendi will snub interest to stay at the club.
Still, the Metro now suggests that the sale of Angel Di Maria could speed up a move for the talented defensive player, with a £35m bid being prepared for the final weeks of the summer.
“I believe that Otamendi is going to stay”. It’s important for both the club and him.
He was also targeting Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos, another top candidate to reinforce his backline, but the Spain global is likely to remain at the Bernabeu following confirmations from manager Rafa Benitez. “It will not be long before he decides to stay”. So it would be very sad to see him leave. “But football is like that, money controls things”.
The start of the Premier League season is almost upon us and the Reds will want to complete all their work in the transfer window as soon as possible, which could mean a move for Otamendi could come sooner rather than later.
