Manchester United target Pogba not a done deal
Manchester United are going to unveil their big fish after manager Jose Mourinho broke the bank for a world record 100 million Pounds transfer deal with Italian champions Juventus. Not only that, but the deal also includes that ‘The Old Lady ‘will receive a bonus payment if the French midfield general further renews his contract with United or if he wins the Ballon d’Or in the future. Pogba had been spotted in LA taking photos with fans on Thursday, adding to the speculation that a Premier League move is imminent.
The agreed £92m fee easily smashes the previous transfer record paid by a British club when United brought Angel Di Maria to Old Trafford from the Real Madrid for £59.7m two years’ ago.
The amount that the clubs would pay Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, was a main sticking point in talks, as Juve had insisted that the Old Trafford club pay it all.
“Journalists are parrots, the signing is not closed between the clubs”, he said on his personal Twitter account.
Zidane said: “I don’t know if he will come”.
When asked about Pogba’s proposed move to Manchester United, Raiola told La Stampa: “It will be closed in the next few days”.
Eurosport kicked off its live Facebook chat, “The Transfer Show”, with Paul Pogba dominating the discussion. Until 31 August anything can happen. He is a great footballer and when you are Madrid you always want the best. “Today I can say nothing”.
“Pogba’s a good player, I like him”. The Frenchman, who has only made one major signing so far this summer in Granit Xhaka, reiterated that he still wants to bring in both a forward and a centre-back, but said it’s hard to find good players on the market. It really becomes overkill as the media bangs you over the head with the same proposed transfer deal every day.
