She grew up in the Orlando area and had worked 17 years for the police department, Police Chief John Mina said. Six federal law enforcement officers died in the line of duty in 2016, along with four from the USA territory of Puerto Rico and one tribal officer. “There are no words”.
Tonight at 7 p.m. a candlelight vigil will be held for the law enforcement officers at the Walmart located on Princeton Street.
Two minutes later, Mina said, there was a radio call that an officer had been shot.
“I’ll miss our time goofing off in court during recesses”, Sandor said.
She contacted the suspect and told him to stop and come out, but the man fired multiple shots at her before fleeing the scene. “Please pray for my OPD Liaison, she’s been shot down in Pinehills”.
“A lot of people are saying that they should have found him then”, said resident Raymond Furness.
Police have named Markeith Loyd, 41, as the murder suspect. CBS Orlando affiliate WKMG reports Loyd is also wanted in connection with the slaying of his pregnant ex-girlfriend. He has been arrested 20 times in Orange County since 1994, records show.

“A motorist turned in front of him”.
The responding deputy who died in a vehicular accident has not yet been identified, pending notification of his family members.
It was during that search that an OCSO deputy was killed in a motorcycle crash, officials said. Do not approach the suspect, authorities say he is armed and risky.
“That indicates to me he is receiving help”, Demings said. The captain was not seriously injured, but authorities are now pursuing an attempted murder charge against the suspect.
Seventeen schools in the area have been placed on lockdown as police hunt for Loyd. At a later news conference, Mina said he was hoping Loyd might turn himself in.
“I didn’t know anyone with a bigger heart”, Sokolovic told the Sentinel. He apparently gave no warning or tried to run before he gunned her down.
