Manning’s accuser not employed at institute in 2011
Football superstar Peyton Manning has turned to Ari Fleischer for PR help as the Denver Broncos quarterback pushes back against an Al Jazeera investigative report that alleges he used performance-enhancing drugs. Nobody has tested positive, which would trigger a four-game suspension.
“Peyton is rightfully outraged by the allegations, which he emphatically denied to our organization and which have been publicly renounced by the source who initially provided them”.
Al Jazeera had no comment on Sly’s walkback and Manning’s legal threat.
Wada also described the allegations, which Manning dismissed as “complete garbage”, as “very concerning”. “It never happened. Never”, Manning said in a statement released by the Broncos.
But before the Al Jazeera documentary aired, Sly recanted his story.
“You don’t want to believe your icons can be that kind of guy”, said Misha King, a Manning fan. This is the first time that claims have been made tying the superstar to performance enhancing drugs of any kind.
Manning has lashed out at the allegations and is even considering a defamation lawsuit against Al Jazeera, the publisher of the report.
Charlie Sly, who allegedly spoke to an undercover reporter working for Al Jazeera, was named as Manning’s drug connection. Sly was cited in the report as speaking about the allegations to an undercover reporter. Davies called Guyer Institute asking for employment verification for Sly and was told he worked there in 2011 when Manning was recovering from neck surgery, and Davies provided the transcript to prove that is what she was told.
“I don’t know the details about it, but off-the-bat I don’t believe it. I feel like he put a lot of hours in to get where he is and he built up the franchise, so I don’t believe it personally”, said Kimberly Fox.
For our part, we’re going to say this is one more example of how people hostile to our culture and society – whether they be Islamists from the shores of the Persian Gulf or leftists from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean – are using media propaganda to diminish our morale. Any medical treatments that my wife receives, that’s her business. Dr. Dale Guyer, founder of the institute, said Sly’s unpaid internship lasted from from February-May 2013, ABC News reported Monday. “What they have is a well-known con man from England who secretly recorded a former intern”.
The NFL collective bargaining agreement, ratified in 2011, banned HGH. As for when he might play again, he said that he’ll do whatever coach Gary Kubiak thinks is best.
The WEEI hosts then asked if Brady would reach out directly to Manning and offer him any advice or lessons learned in dealing with the Deflategate saga.
