Manning to Belichick: ‘Might be my last rodeo’
Bill Belichick declined to share what he spoke about with Peyton Manning at midfield following Denver’s elimination of New England in the AFC Championship. “So, it sure has been a pleasure”, Manning was reported to have told Belichick.
Belichick replied: “You’re a great competitor”.
The NFL is investigating allegations connecting Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and human growth hormone, league spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed to Omnisport on Wednesday.
“I tried to lay on him a few times”, the anonymous Bronco said.
It’s a chance for Manning to cap his most maddening season by becoming the first starting QB to win Lombardi Trophies for two different teams.
The Broncos’ five-year veteran linebacker kept the ball that he intercepted from Tom Brady at the beginning of the second quarter of the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.
“Thank God for Jennifer, because she took all the pressure off me and just let me study and play and practice throughout the week, not worry about where everybody wanted to go, who didn’t like their rooms, what parties everybody wanted”.
Peyton Manning vehemently denied using or receiving HGH.
“Thank you, thank you very much”, Manning said.
Manning expanded upon his messages to Belichick and Brady-without getting into specifics-in yesterday’s MMQB. This, in fact, was a “just in case” thought, based on a bit of gamesmanship the Ravens flirted with trying last season.
On Sunday, they backed up their words by constantly harassing Brady in a 20-18 win over the Patriots to earn a spot in Super Bowl 50 against Carolina (17-1).
“They made more plays than us”.
“We’ve got to come up with a great game plan against them like we did against New England”, Talib said.
Now, let’s just hope the Broncos have one more cover in them. They only have one other appearance, which was in 2003.
In making the announcement that the Broncos would indeed defy convention and wear their away jersey, John Elway. the team’s executive vice president of football operations and general manager, cited the team’s past Super Bowl performances for the decision, strongly suggesting that this was a decision based on superstition.
Manning will become the oldest starting quarterback in Super Bowl history when the Broncos collide with the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco on February 7.
