Manziel drunk at practice
According to NFL.com’s Mike Silver, the Cleveland Browns had lied when they said Manziel had to follow concussion protocols in Week 17 to cover up for the fact that the quarterback had showed up intoxicated at a Wednesday practice. He also said he’ll take the Browns at their word about not covering up Manziel’s injury and “I regret using that term (‘lied’)”.
The Dallas Police Department is investigating the domestic violence complaint against Manziel after initially saying there would be no charges.
During the ride with Manziel from Dallas to her apartment in Fort Worth, Crowley said she was crying and told him “I hate you!”
Manziel’s attorney, Bradley Beckworth, did not return a phone message Monday. Former Cleveland Plain-Dealer beat writer Tony Grossi, who know works for ESPN Radio’s Cleveland affiliate, first brought us that nugget of news during the Browns’ postgame show on Sunday, Jan. 3.
She said they went to dinner at Victor Tango’s restaurant in Dallas with three friends and then went to two bars before going to an “after party” at Hotel ZaZa.
Crowley later tweeted that “J & I are good” and thanked those who “stopped to check on us and call the police”.
After leaving the valet stand, Crowley says she jumped out of the vehicle and hid behind some bushes on McKinney Avenue. Eventually, after getting some of Crowley’s neighbors involved, Manziel ran away. “I don’t want to be talking about a tragedy in the very near future”.
Instagram Johnny Manziel with girlfriend Colleen Crowley. Manziel allegedly got into the driver’s seat of her auto and started to back out of the spot. Fearful for my life, I hit Respondent several times, hoping I could back out of he vehicle. His girlfriend said he threatened her life and his own, and she said he slapped her in the face so hard that she lost her sense of hearing for days.
Manziel took her down to his vehicle where, the affidavit said, she pleaded with a valet telling them “Please don’t let him take me”. You don’t deserve that. He went over to the computer and saw that I actually had tried to FaceTime my parents and I became extremely scared as to what he might do. Manziel’s family twice tried and failed to check him into rehab, and his father told the Dallas Morning News that he is anxious his son won’t live to see his 24th birthday. As Silver notes, however, the Johnny Football saga goes well beyond football.
