Manziel rep: Attorney who sent errant text to AP resigns
It’s in interesting in a twist just days after one of Manziel’s lawyers accidentally told The Associated Press that Manziel is looking for a plea deal in his Dallas domestic violence case.
Hinton also texted he had received a receipt indicating the 23-year-old quarterback had spent more than $1,000 on drug paraphernalia less than 24 hours after being involved in an alleged hit-and-run auto accident.
Manziel is charged with misdemeanor assault based on allegations he hit and threatened a former girlfriend in January.
Johnny Manziel is standing on the edge of a cliff, taunting his distraught father.
“He’s a druggie. It’s not a secret that he’s a druggie”, Paul Manziel said in a phone interview Friday. The text was sent Wednesday after the AP sought comment via text about the crash. He just hasn’t seeked it yet.
The attorney, Bob Hinton, expressed his doubts that Manziel could stay clean long enough if that were a condition of his sentence.
‘Hopefully he doesn’t die before he comes to his senses.
The elder Manziel also went on to say that the rehabilitation center’s treatment procedures did not work well on him. “If I have to bury him, I’ll bury him”.
Crowley, told police that Manziel had invited her to his hotel room to talk and that he slapped her head, rupturing her eardrum and causing her to lose her hearing. If I have to bury him, I’ll bury him.
Let’s hope Manziel is in better shape than his father claims, and if not, that he gets the help he apparently needs sooner than later.
“I don’t know if the receipt is legitimate or not”, Hinton responded when asked about it by the AP.
“I just know that it doesn’t say Johnny’s name on it anywhere that I can see”, Hinton said.
