Marco Rubio is starting to go after Donald Trump
George Bush did very well during his primary seasons several years ago and will be campaigning for his brother from now until our primary in SC. It also seemed he needed to prove to the political world, himself and his family that he could face the biggest test of his young presidential bid.
While Christie never broke from the pack, he still made a lasting mark on the New Hampshire primary, knocking the surging Marco Rubio off his game at Saturday’s debate by berating Rubio for repeating the same talking point over and over. “My kids knew that it didn’t go the way I wanted it to go”.
Christie held a meeting with his campaign staff at 4 p.m. today to thank them and announce the news, according to a spokesperson for the campaign.
“What they misjudged is the fact that while it may have hurt Rubio, it didn’t help his own campaign”, Pray said. More important, Cruz, victor of Iowa, was a distant third in New Hampshire and hasn’t turned his Iowa success into a translatable bump in the next race, for SC.
“I will continue to serve in order to restore citizen government to this great nation so that together we may fulfill our potential”, the statement said. He tells you what hes going to do, but he wont tell you how hes going to do it. I think once this race narrows, the pressure will be on him.New Hampshire destroyed any momentum Rubio had coming out of Iowa and for now, at least, locks Rubio in a messy muddle in his partys establishment wing.
The Republican establishment had hoped for a while now that establishment candidates like Bush, Kasich and Christie would eventually drop out of the race and rally around Rubio like some sort of Republican Voltron who would be powerful enough to destroy Trump before he ruins the party.
And as senior aides embraced the possibility of a brokered national convention, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., said the Rubio operation is “built for a long campaign”.
What happened here in New Hampshire in terms of an enthusiastic, and aroused electorate, people who came out in large numbers.
Rubio’s organization on the ground in New Hampshire is not as extensive as Kasich’s or those of some other mainstream candidates. “Once you get to the winner-take-all states, then it’s about winning”. “But, you’re running to be the leader of the free world – it’s supposed to be a challenge”.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump laughs with a supporter at a polling place for the presidential primary in Manchester, New Hampshire on February 9.
Kasich, who has been rising in the polls in New Hampshire, is another candidate seeking to profit from Rubio’s troubles.
AD NAUSEAM: The presidential hopefuls and their supporters already are planning to spend $35 million in SC and $7 million in Nevada on TV and radio commercials, amounts that will rise significantly as voting approaches.
In a shift, Rubio had a 44-minute free-flowing conversation with reporters on his campaign plane en route to Greenville.
JEB BUSH: We need a president that has a steady hand, that knows that the military needs to be rebuilt.
Sensing weakness, Democrats and Republicans alike have begun to question Rubio’s long-term viability.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who has staked his candidacy on New Hampshire, lagged behind the pack in early vote counts.
