Marco Rubio Keeps Up Attacks on ‘Con Artist’ Trump
Rubio relayed that Trump was having a “meltdown” at the debate and had “one of those sweat moustaches”. “But he wanted a full-length mirror, maybe to make sure his trousers weren’t wet”.
Rubio also told the crowd that Super Tuesday is a referendum on the conservative movement, warning Trump is “not a true conservative”.
“He’s going to Americans who are struggling, Americans who are hurting, and he’s saying, ‘I’m fighting for you because I’m a tough guy.’ A tough guy?”
Digs at Trump’s wealth: When Trump faulted Rubio on a deal to buy a $179,000 house, the Florida senator shot back that if Trump “hadn’t inherited $200 million, you know where Donald Trump would be right now?” When Trump said this was false, Rubio invited the viewers to google “Donald Trump Polish workers”. “And once a chocker, always a’ – a choker, I guess that’s what he meant to say”, Rubio said at a rally in Texas, reading Trump tweets from his phone.
“You have a guy who is being sued right now for fraud for Trump University”, Rubio exclaimed. He was wet… I thought he just came out of a swimming pool.
Eventually Trump had enough and called Rubio “a choke artist” and Cruz “a liar”. Number two: “just like Trump Tower, he must have hired a foreign worker to do his own tweets”.
In a Republican primary that has featured a candidate who touted attacking his mother with a hammer in his youth, debating whether or not Donald Trump has punched anyone in the face is a logical extension of the lunacy.
When asked about a recent report that his campaign manager had met with top donors to discuss a contested convention in order to earn the GOP nomination, Rubio denied that he was thinking of deploying such a strategy.
He didn’t rule out becoming a Rubio supporter but said he’ll likely stick with Trump.
Rubio, meanwhile, expanded his attacks on Friday to include even Trump’s age, telling the Dallas rally Trump would be the oldest president ever elected.
He also went after Trump’s greed.
“I only reach two conclusions”, said Mr. Rubio, 44, going in for the kill.
“I prefer not to have a fight and argument with other Republicans, but Donald, as he reminds everyone, has done very well in the early states”, Rubio said.
“What we are dealing with here, my friends, is a con artist”.
