Marcus Mariota reportedly feeling better, still day-to-day
CB Perrish Cox (hamstring) is getting acupuncture treatments for the injury, but he is a question mark for Sunday’s game.
Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota said last week that he felt “pretty good” about his chances of playing despite a sprained MCL, but that feeling proved incorrect as he missed practice during the week and the loss to the Falcons last Sunday. Any fantasy owners should continue to monitor Cox’s status throughout the week. “You’re always one play away. I was able to go through most of it so continuing on through this week we’ll kind of add on a few more things and see if I can continue to feel good and handle it”, Mariota told News 2.
“There’s things he does really well”, Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt said.
Zach Mettenberger, a sixth-round draft pick in 2014, would start his second consecutive game if Mariota is unable to go. He was sacked 18 times in his five starts last season.
On Wednesday, Mettenberger was asked about his personal rivalry with Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt.
The Texans will try to bounce back from the disappointing loss on their home field this week versus the weakened Titans and it looks like O’Brien’s boys will prevail.
Prediction: Texans win, 28-24.
