Margot Robbie nearly got cast in ‘Fantastic Four’, says Jared Leto’s Joker
And one more thing: it turns out that Robbie came reasonably close to landing the role of Sue Storm in Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four movie. Daniel Day Lewis apparently intimated the original young actor starring opposite him in There Will Be Blood so much that he had to be replaced, while Eric Stoltz’s insistence that people call him Marty soon had him canned from Back To The Future.
Margot says, “What he’s doing with the character is so cool. I guess it’s part of the game: sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose some”.
The 25-year-old Australian actress made this admission to the NY Daily News, while at the same time insisting that Leto’s decision to go full method resulted in a “pretty impressive” performance. Leto who plays the Joker in “Suicide Squad” sported neon hair, white face, golden teeth and red lips for the role.
But she then added that “actually, I saw him out of makeup once and I was actually petrified of him”. As for her own character Harley Quinn, Robbie revealed that she was “absolutely nuts… she’s either going to kill you or laugh and give you a hug”.
It’s interesting to find out that the actress was going to be in the critical flop, Fantastic Four.
This puts Harley Quinn in a new light – though obviously still obsessed with the Joker, Quinn is now portrayed more as a victim than an actual villain.
Suicide Squad is helmed by David Ayer. She seems to really have enjoyed working with the cast of Suicide Squad, which is stellar. Leto was not present with them and ever since the beginning has been keeping himself under the wraps since he happens to be one of the most pivotal characters in the super-villain movie.
“Suicide Squad“, set to hit theaters on August 5, 2016, chronicles a band of DC Comics’ major supervillains led by Will Smith’s Deathstroke, who are forced to perform risky secret missions for the government.
