Mariah Carey to be recognised on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

“Super excited & feeling so humbled about my star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame”, Carey tweeted on Monday.

She has sold millions of records and dominated the charts for over 20 years, and now Mariah Carey is receiving the ultimate honour.

The five-time Grammy Award victor, is one of the most successful acts in the music industry with a whopping 18 No. 1 hits in her career, but up until now she wasn’t recognized on Hollywood’s most famous walkway.

Mariah Carey will get the 2,556th star, and it will be unveiled in a ceremony on August 5.

In a Twitter post, Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies, clarified these questions saying, “FYI-Mariah Carey was selected in 2007 and is now able to do the ceremony”.

According to Daily Mail, although it is not yet confirmed if her boyfriend James Packer will be present during the event, Carey’s friend Lee Daniels will be making an appearance on the event.

She added: “We are thrilled that we can add one of the world’s biggest talents to our Walk of Fame”.

Mariah Carey is now on a residency at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for her new album “Infinity”. Mariah will continue the next leg in February 2016.
