Mariah Carey to go on first European tour in 13 years
With her “Sweet Sweet Fantasy” tour beginning in spring, the singer who has already received enormous commercial success will be back on stages throughout Europe.
She will then conclude the tour in South Africa.
She wrote on Twitter: “Lambily, it’s been too long!!”
Mariah Carey has sold over 220 million records and 17 of her 18 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles have been self-penned, including “Fantasy”, “Always Be My Baby”, “Hero”, “Touch My Body”, “One Sweet Day”, and “We Belong Together”, more than any other solo artist.
Carey will travel all over Europe visiting places like England, Wales, Luxembourg, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and France.
In an interview on Lorraine, she said: “I’m calling it the Sweet, Sweet Fantasy tour, I wanted to give people some nostalgia – so that title is from my song Fantasy obviously”.
Following her sell-out Las Vegas residency, the European dates will mark the first time she has performed this side of the Atlantic since 2003. “I’m so excited to be coming to South Africa to perform for you all”.
Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday December 18.
“I promise we’re going to share the most awesome moments together and I’ve got so many surprises in store for you daahhlings!”
