Mariah Carey to guest star in ‘Empire’
Fox and Carey did not further elaborate on Daniels” announcement, but the network is set to make a formal presentation of its plans for “Empire’ and other upcoming shows at a Television Critics Association panel today, Thursday.
Among the guests paying tribute to Carey was Empire creator Lee Daniels, who said fans should look for the singer in the hit show’s second season.
“Watch her on “Empire”, you guys”.
Carey previously worked with Daniels on “Precious” in 2009 and “Tennessee” in 2008 and her role will be her first major TV appearance since she appeared in an episode of “Ally McBeal” in 2002.

The unveiling featured unexpected guests: Monroe and Moroccan, Carey’s four-year-old twins from her former marriage to rapper and actor Nick Cannon. “I never expected this and I’m very emotional”.
The children even got a chance to address the huge crowd of fans outside the W Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard as Mariah held them up to the microphone to say: “I love you Mummy”. “I’m very honoured and humbled and so thankful to be here”. Eighteen of her singles have hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart. Carey, who is around 45 but whose date of birth is a matter of dispute, has been one of the most successful artists of the past two-and-a-half decades, with more than 200 million albums sold worldwide and five Grammy awards.
