Mario Balotelli latest: Liverpool striker wanted at Bologna, Serie A side
The director of sport of newly-promoted Serie A side Bologna has revealed that he would be interested in bringing Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli back to Italy.
With Liverpool signing players such as Danny Ings, Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino, Balotelli’s stock at the club has further fallen and he is believed to be surplus to requirements at Anfield. He scored just one Premier League goal during his first twelve months at Anfield and was widely criticised for his lacklustre performances.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also hoping fellow strikers Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini can agree moves elsewhere this summer with West Brom and Norwich keen on Lambert and Aston Villa said to be weighing up a possible swoop for Borini.
Newly-promoted Serie A side Bologna are interested in offering Mario Balotelli an escape route out of Liverpool, according to a report.
Balotelli has already turned down third division Italian side Lupa Castelli – as ESPN report – and with time running out until the start of the new season, we might have to take a huge loss of we wish to get rid of him.
“I would take him, I would have a lot of motivation to do so”, Pantaleo Corvino told Calciomercato.
“Of course, Bologna have a certain financial parameter, which needs to be respected“. But at the right price, there is the possibility to buy him outright.
