Mariota injured as Patriots top Titans
Houston quarterback T.J. Yates left the field and walked straight to the locker room late in the first half Sunday after apparently injuring his left knee at Indianapolis. The game was the Patriots final home game of the regular season. The Vikings listed Peterson as probable to return, and the RB returned to the field on the Vikings’ second possession of the second half.
Here’s a look at the scenarios where New England can land a first round bye.
New England didn’t completely escape the game unscathed, as linebacker Dont’a Hightower, wide receiver Danny Amendola and safety Patrick Chung were banged up at different points on the afternoon.
White had seven receptions for 71 yards, including a score on a 30-yard touchdown. Zach Mettenberger was taken down two times in a relief effort.
New England gets two interceptions, five sacks and a defensive touchdown. Without Gronk (and Julian Edelman and Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount … you get the picture), Tom Brady and the Pats’ offense is limited.
Then again, consecutive games against the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans will do that for a team looking for a shot of adrenaline.
Mariota was sacked by Jamie Collins with about 10 minutes left in the second quarter.
