Markieff Morris: I Want To Be Here With Suns
“Tensions between player and organisation occurred after Morris” twin Marcus was traded to Detroit, despite the two signing a contract extension a year ago.
He also called out Suns fans for a lack of support following a blowout home loss to the Spurs. I just really want to look forward to this upcoming season.
“I’m looking forward to the season, not really trying to look at the past”, Morris said on Monday.
Since the last Suns season ended with a playoff miss for the fifth consecutive year, the executives, coaches and players have worked to improve the team for more than five months in preparation for this day when they head to training camp in Flagstaff.
Phoenix Suns power forward Markieff Morris has backed down from his desire to be traded, saying he wants to be there.
David Aldridge of NBA.com reports that Morris will still rejoin the Suns’ camp in this offseason athough the big man is still unhappy with his situation in Phoenix. “I don’t really want to talk about what happened this summer”.
With every team in the National Basketball Association knowing that Morris wanted out, no potential suitor would have been willing to offer the Suns a fair deal.
The twins, Markieff and Marcus, ignited their careers in Phoenix last season, after averaging 15.3 and 10.4 points per game respectively.
When he was asked about the summer comments, Kieff said “It’s between us and we’re going to deal with it”. He’d privately, then publicly demanded a trade this summer, got fined, 000 for it and heard the general manager say he wasn’t going anywhere.
