Marotta insists Pogba is not for sale
“There is a strong possibility that Pogba will play for Barcelona if Laporta is elected”.
Joan Laporta – who is running for a second term as Barca president this summer – has claimed he would try to sign the 22-year-old France worldwide, who is also reportedly a target of Premier League sides Manchester City and Chelsea.
The English press have reported the coming to an end of the Paul Pogba transfer saga, claiming the Juventus midfielder would have chosen Barcelona.
Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta insists that Paul Pogba is “not for sale” amid continued interest from Barcelona.
And Paul Pogba’s agent has now admitted that should Laporta win the election, Pogba could sign for the Catalan giants.
However, the Italian champions have now clarified that the player is not for sale and has a contract that is meant to keep him at the club until 2019.
“This is the right way for two teams that have so much history and importance in the world of football to act”.
The situation is clear between Juventus and Barcelona since the meeting we had in Milan with their director of sporting institutional relations, Albert Soler, and my friend Ariedo Braida. Barça made an offer and we replied. The trip [by Barcelona] to Turin seemed like a political move, specially designed to take a picture. It was a very odd journey.
In a recent interview with EFE, Raiola spoke about the future of his most prized client and stressed that should candidate Joan Laporta win the election over Josep Maria Bartomeu, Pogba could be in blaugrana next season. “First Barcelona will have to negotiate with me, then with Juventus, but they can do so”.
