Marshall’s Gase is new Miami Dolphins coach
The Dolphins interviewed seven candidates, including former National Football League head coaches Mike Shanahan, Mike Smith and Doug Marrone, and completed their search in six days.
He was scheduled for a second interview with the Eagles Friday. It’s also possible they did and the Birds lost out to Miami, which is pretty concerning considering the Dolphins aren’t considered to be the most stable franchise.

At 37, Gase is the youngest head coach in team history.
Adam Gase emerged as the front-runner yesterday in the Miami Dolphins’ coaching search.
Gase has been a quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos during his coaching career before taking over as offensive coordinator of the Broncos and Chicago Bears in the last four seasons. The creative play-caller showed equal command and versatility in milking a career-high passer rating out of Cutler, a quarterback most had written off before last season. “Adam had a great impact on me during our three years together here in Denver as my quarterbacks coach and then as offensive coordinator”. He’s an extremely hard worker – a grinder. Blank said Dimitroff has formed “a productive working relationship” with first-year coach Dan Quinn.
Loggains, the Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator for part of 2012 and all of 2013, contributed to Gase’s play-calling this season.
San Francisco is expected to interview Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson on Sunday, though his agent, John Thornton, hasn’t returned requests to confirm the meeting.
Prior quarterbacks Cutler and Manning were very complimentary of Gase upon his hire Saturday.
This is the ideal challenge for Gase to come in and fix and coach the Dolphins back to a state of relevancy because the team is loaded with offensive talent, but there is a lack in leadership in the front office and the coaching staff. Eli Manning has stated a preference for McAdoo to stay with the Giants in some capacity, either returning as coordinator or being elevated to head coach.
“When I first signed with the [Bears]”, Rolle said, “I picked his brain a whole lot, asking him what it was like to work with Peyton”.
