Marshawn Lynch serving as scout RB for Cal
Not that Dykes can do that, since Lynch, 30, is no longer eligible to suit up for the Golden Bears.
Look, Marshawn Lynch is having a better time in his retirement then you’re gonna have, well, probably ever, so it might just be time to accept that. The running back formerly known as Beast Mode was in Australia of all places, working out with the Cal squad as they prepared for a season-opening game against Hawaii down under. But Lynch, who spent nine seasons in the National Football League, does still seem intent on staying close to the game.
“He’s been really great with our players and has interacted with their families”.
Cal opens the season Friday vs. Hawai’i in Sydney. He does a lot of things that people don’t know about behind the scenes. He played for Cal from 2004 to ’06, and rushed for 3,230 yards and 29 touchdowns and had 68 catches for 600 yards and six scores.
“I told him, ‘If you had one game left, we’d give it to you 50 times, ‘ ” Dykes said. He was drafted No. 12 overall by the Buffalo Bills.
