Marshawn Lynch to miss Seahawks’ wild-card game at Minnesota
According to USA Today, the teams will be provided with specially designed underwear for brutal cold, supplied by Minnesota-based WSI Sports.
The rest of the Seahawks’ injury situation for this rematch – after Seattle’s 38-7 win at Minnesota last month – is equally promising. Just never had a chance to get anything going and, let’s be completely honest, Teddy is not ready to carry this team start to finish against a team like Seattle. “They don’t think we can”. He’s looked really good, and we’re hoping so. Defensively, they got after us. “And he’s looked really good in practice”. “We’re going into it with the best mentality that we can, knowing that it’s going to be a cold game”.
Coach Mike Zimmer gave a speech to that effect. “But there’s only four teams in the league that have better records than us, so we’ve done a couple things right”.
The Seahawks, meanwhile, have yet to play a game in freezing conditions this season. “That’s why we’ve kind of been coaching the young guys to be prepared and not take it for granted”.
“We’ve got a lot of heart”, he said. When my good friend from Washington takes the floor to celebrate our victory, I want to remind her what Vikings fans cheer: “SKOL VIKINGS”.
Outside of Willson, Seattle should see the return of several key players. All three are healthy for Sunday’s game.
This could be one of the coldest games in National Football League history, with an expected temperature at kickoff of minus-17 C, and a wind chill of minus-29.
However, it appears the Seahawks somewhat retracted that statement when they tweeted, Carroll, saying: “I have not said yet that (Marshawn Lynch who is questionable) is playing”. “You just have to go out there and play”.
Lynch was a full participant in practice all week for the Seahawks, so the revelation that he will not be playing on Sunday is a significant surprise.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson doesn’t plan to wear a gloves, but will use hand-warmers to heat his appendages between plays.
Back at the airport, Seahawks fans’ hearts skipped a beat where they thought they discovered an omen from above.
It’s hard to knock the Minnesota Vikings following an NFC North winning 11-5 season, but if there’s one area that is cause for a concern heading into the playoffs, it’s their offense. “I think also on the sideline, it’s just staying warm as much as possible”.
The players, meanwhile, will have access to specially designed cold-weather gear that was first used during a playoff game at Lambeau Field in 2014 and later used by the Seahawks during the Super Bowl at the Meadowlands.
