Martial: United can win Premier League and Champions League
But Armand Garrido, who coached the 19-year-old as he was coming through the youth ranks at Lyon, is confident that Martial will improve further as he settles in at Old Trafford.
Martial, 19, joined the Red Devils on transfer deadline day from Monaco and the French teenager has quickly endeared himself to the supporters of the 20-time Premier League champions with four goals in all competitions.
He has had a dream start to life with Louis van Gaal’s men, regularly finding the back of the net, and Martial has set his sights high for his debut season in England.
“We are among the top five clubs [in Europe]”, he added.
Martial is now with the France national team ahead of two friendlies against Armenia and Denmark. “Everybody is surprised by what he is doing at United but that’s good for him and good for us. I hope he’ll leave his mark on the Premier League”, Cabaye said.
‘The goal against Liverpool, the big enemy of the club, allowed the fans to get to know me a bit better’. He deserves to be here.
But the striker is pleased that fans have seen the real him at such an early stage, making the price tag easy to forget.
“It has silenced a few people”.
“With all the racket that there was before and after his arrival, many have realised that he has the quality”, Deschamps said. He did in Monaco. “He’s always been talented though”.
