Martina Navratilova, the Czech Republic born former world number 1 tennis player, was wearing all white dress. She bended knee and proposed the Russian model with who she is in a relationship for a longtime. Julia, the 42 years old model dressed in black pencil skirt and sleeveless top was speechless. The incident took place in Arthur Ashe Stadium, NYC. However, Julia raised her engagement hand towards Martina Navratilova and said yes to her proposal.

The 57 years old Martina Navratilova, the nine times Wimbledon winner told the crowd on the big screen that “I have been waiting for the right time to ask Julia to marry me.” Martina added, “I thought this was the right place and the right time to pop the question and thankfully I got a yes.”

Martina has a long list of awards in her kitty, including 18 times Grand Slam championship (single). She was awarded the sport personality of the year also.

Next phase of life

Martina Navratilova also tweeted about the next phase of her life, stating “Thanks everyone for your good wishes,” she also mentioned that “I am very happy, so is Julia and our whole family.” The duo has been dating since 2006, and Julia has two daughters from her previous relationship.
