Marvel Announces Ant-Man Sequel And Its Title!
At the end of Ant-Man, we were treated to a post-credits sequence of Hope receiving the superhero costume – and we can not WAIT to see her in action in a Wasp headlined movie!
Finally, Marvel has slated 3 new mystery films for May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020.
Marvel notes the upcoming film marks the first in which a heroine is a title character.
The biggest talking point would have to be the Ant-Man sequel, which is now being tentatively titled Ant-Man and The Wasp.
One downside to Marvel having its Phase 3 plans on the table for all to see is that when the studio wants to make changes, it has to become headline news. Black Panther – previously announced for the July 6, 2018 spot – will shift up to February 16, 2018, making it the earliest calendar date release for a Marvel movie yet. Marvel Studios did not confirm whether these actors will be reprising their roles in the follow-up or who will play Wasp, whose alias is Janet van Dyne.
Stay locked in, as I’m sure there will be plenty of details rolling out throughout the rest of the week.
“Ant-Man” will also appear in “Captain America: Civil War”, arriving on May 6, 2016, according to IGN.
There are still no official announcements on phase 4, but with the movies continuing to be huge box office hits is only a matter of time for Marvel to start planning more pictures for the franchise.
Sister company Pixar also had plenty to say with the announcement of sequels Cars 3 and The Incredibles 2, set for mid-2017 and 2019 respectively.
Captain Marvel is being moved back as well to March 8, 2019. So don’t be surprised if 2020 brings us another Spider-Man, Doctor unusual or The Black Panther. There are also additional films being added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe roster.
