Marvel Comics Teases Civil War 2
That’s not to say Civil War II: This Time It’s Civiler would necessarily commit the same sins its predecessor did-turning heroes into monsters just for the sake of having them fight each other, a ham-fisted debate about liberty and security that consumed nearly all of Marvel’s comics at the time.
What do you think – will they do a Civil War II? The idea right now is to release a sequel to the Civil War comic in 2016.
Before Marvel’s phase 4, fans can look forward to “Avengers: Infinity War” with part I showing on May 4, 2018.
Chances are, this might have to do a lot with how the series of comics was received by critics and a few fans.
Rumors about the sequel of “Civil War” came from a tweet from comic book store retailer Ryan Higgins, who posted a picture of a postcard that was sent out to retailers from Marvel themselves, according to io9. The image in the poster shows Iron Man and Captain America going up against each other. A statement from Chris Evans (Captain America) has now hinted that the issue of fighting for one’s secret identity is not present in the film. Feige added that a non-cap character will also have center stage during the film such as Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robbert Downey Jr.), Bucky Barnes/Winter Solider (Sebastian Stan), Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) etc.
For those who are unaware, Sam Wilson is the Falcon in both the comics and movies. In that Civil War, the battle never ended and only escalated to unsafe heights as General Steve Rogers (yup) battles President Stark (YUP) one last time.
We’ll definitely find out in 2016 should Marvel make an official announcement.
In a recent report, fans have been wondering if the movie version of Captain America Civil War will remain faithful to the comics because the real identities of the heroes are already publicly known.
