Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite extended gameplay trailer!
Over the weekend, Capcom and Marvel finally announced the next entry in the legendary Marvel vs Capcom fighting game series: Infinite. In this trailer, Captain America and Morrigan both make their debut alongside the already present Ryu, Mega Man, Captain Marvel and Iron Man.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will feature a variety of exciting and accessible single player modes and rich multi-player content for new players and longtime fans alike. It’s been years since the last Marvel vs. Capcom – a trend that is shared by many of Capcom’s most treasured IPs.
Of course, Capcom has a plethora of properties from which to choose when it comes to resurrecting older franchises beyond Marvel vs. Capcom, so it’s really anyone’s guess as to which properties could receive a resurgence. Expect more info and character reveals in the coming months. Capcom has confirmed that players will get to select an Infinity Stone before each fight, granting them one ability that can be used at any time, and a second, stronger power that’s still in development.
There are additional rumors that the X-Men characters or Marvel characters generally owned by FOX would not be appearing in this game. However, its use in the Marvel vs Capcom: Infintite is not made clear yet. As for fears that the X-Men or the Fantastic Four will be left out, it’s still too early to tell with just six characters revealed so far. The franchise showcases two schools worth of combatants – including Street Fighter mainstay Sakura Kasugano – beating the snot out of each other, often with extra-curricular themed move sets. Newer games included characters such as Cable from the Marvel universe and Dante from Devil May Cry fame.
Basically instead of creating a brand new franchise from scratch, Capcom will look at bringing back franchises that they haven’t looked at in a while.
