Maryland-Michigan Game Rescheduled for Hurricane Joaquin
Michigan (3-1) is on a three game win streak while Maryland (2-2) has exchanged wins and losses in each of their first four contests. “We’re still early in the season with them and expect them to get better”. The game went into halftime with the Terps only trailing 6-0 to Michigan.
“This return game that Maryland has is one of the best I’ve ever seen in college football, and so is their returner”, Harbaugh said.
The Big Ten Conference has changed the time of Michigan’s game at Maryland to noon Eastern Saturday, moving up kickoff by eight hours amid concerns over drenching rain and the approach of Hurricane Joaquin. The passing game isn’t working, and the defense isn’t stopping anyone, but the biggest overall problem continues to be turnover margin at a -9 on the year, going in the negative in every game, and giving it away 14 times in four games.
Big Ten opener for both teams. They will get back to the drawing board this week, but it won’t get any easier, as they prepare to face the No. 1 team in the country: the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Michigan State 44, Purdue 10: The Spartans finally will put things together and obliterate an opponent, with the 1965 MSU national champions on hand to watch a team that has yet to give sustained evidence that it can win it all.
After U-M cornerback Jourdan Lewis’ impressive interception – thrown behind him, he tipped it to himself off his own helmet before corralling it – Michigan took a downfield shot and missed. Leading the charge for the Hoosiers is the nation’s leading rusher in RB Jordan Howard, who has 675 yards on 111 carries.
It’s great seeing Big Ten teams challenge themselves in nonconference action, especially in those cross-region showdowns with other Power 5 heavyweights. The game will still be televised on Big Ten Network. He’ll have his first chance on Saturday at noon ET. But what we saw against BYU was enough to tell this team is at least improving. The Terps’ loss to Bowling Green on September 12 had a lengthy weather delay because of lightning in the area.
