Masjid al Haram crane accident: 70 killed, 200 wounded
Pakistan’s famous music show Coke Studio has postponed fifth episode of the current season following deadly incident in Makkah where crane collapse caused death of 107 people.
Some of the injured were listed to be in serious condition. He said that at least 22 Pakistanis had been hospitalised in different health facilities, adding that 25 Pakistanis were discharged after receiving first aid. At least 87 were killed and 183 were injured when a crane crashed into the mosque just weeks before Hajj, according to the head of Saudi Civil Defence Authority account to Al Ikhbariya television.
Moreover, the prime minister has directed Pakistan’s Ambassador in Saudi Arabia to provide every possible help to the injured and personally visit every Pakistani patient in hospitals on his behalf.
SPA said that nearly 800,000 pilgrims had arrived by Friday for the Haj, which all able-bodied Muslims are expected to perform if they have the means to do so.
The accident occurred as Saudi Arabia was preparing to welcome 3 million people for the annual pilgrimage [Hajj] that begins in 10 days time.
