Massachusetts mother charged with abducting her 2 children
A MA mom, who police say ran off with her two young kids, was found Monday, and the children have been reunited with their father, FOX25 reported.
While the children were missing, police had said in a statement that due to “the actions and statements made by [Valerie] McGrath in the last few weeks, the Police Department has concerns for the safety of the children”.
Valerie McGrath was arrested Monday when her vehicle was spotted at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Raynham and charged with kidnapping minors. The children, who were determined to be in good health by EMS personnel, were returned to their father, according to Lakeville police. However, the state declined to issue an Amber Alert, saying the children were not in immediate danger.
Carrigan said he asked McGrath’s sister to serve as chaperone during the visit. Police said both children were unharmed. “I’m just so glad it was down the street, and now we can go home and enjoy the rest of the night”.
“That was the only thing that was keeping me strong, that I was talking with people, the news people and stuff, thinking that she loves her kids, she wasn’t going to do something”, said Carrigan.
