Masters of the Universe was a popular cartoon/toyline from the 1980s that was set in the fantastical land of Eternia.
Christoper Yost the write of the Thor films will write foe the He-Man movie. While the film is still in development without a director, Sony has brought on Thor: Ragnarok scribe Christopher Yost to rewrite the screenplay. While Escape Artists might not have the same name recall as its partner, Sony Pictures, the studio was the driving force behind hit films like “A Knights Tale”, “Pursuit of Happiness” and “The Weather Man”.
Several filmmakers have attempted to harness the fabulous secret powers of the He-Man universe, dating back to reports in 2007 that John Woo was working on an adaptation.
Yost started as a writer on animated shows like X-Men: Evolution, The Batman, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and went on to work on Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World. The movie did not do well in the box office when first released, but managed to gain a cult following over the years. Mr. Franklin has been pretty generous with fans on social media, occasionally responding to queries about the status of the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe live-action movie with updates and images. A cartoon series reboot was done as well in the early 2000’s. He-Man was given a new lease in life in the 2000’s with an animated reboot and a new look, one that geared more towards the Japanese anime style.
