Mathieu Flamini has confidence in Arsene Wenger after injury problems
Taking a quick look at Arsenal´s fixture schedule we see that 12 weeks from this weekend is the Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford, which is a game that it would be great to have Coquelin available for.
Mathieu Flamini has full confidence in Arsene Wenger after Francis Coquelin was ruled out for up to three months with a knee ligament injury.
And Wenger has indicated he is willing to buy a new player in January to bolster his squad following a number of injuries.
“I will do what is needed in Janaury, knowing as well that in January it is not an ideal transfer market”.
Wenger said, “It is what we feared”, he said following Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
Although Coquelin has established himself as one of the first names on the team-sheet since returning from a loan spell with Charlton in late 2014, Wenger was urged to sign another defensive midfielder to give Coquelin competition and cover should he suffer an injury.
“We have players that can play in [Coquelin’s] position”. “Chambers has been educated in that position”.
Confirmation of the length of Coquelin’s lay-off is another significant blow to an Arsenal side ravaged by injuries, having faced West Brom without Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. So we are very proud to have him as our coach.
Dinamo will be unable to call upon Arijan Ademi after the midfielder was banned for four years due to failing a drugs test following September’s 2-1 win over Arsenal. “It will be at least two months but I don’t want to speculate more than that”.
