Matt Garza back from DL to start for Brewers against Indians
The team hid Matt Garza gnomes in several spots – and then posted clues as to where they were on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. He held the Indians hitless in six at-bats with runners in scoring position.
Salazar walked three and struck out eight. First baseman Carlos Santana couldn’t handle Francisco Lindor’s one-hop throw, an error for the shortstop, that would have ended the inning. Garza, who is winless in his last five outings, has been torched for 29 runs on 48 hits over that 30-inning stretch.
Instead of hiding the gnomes around Miller Park like in years past, the Brewers held a scavenger hunt on social media.
Parra also hit an RBI triple in the eighth. Swisher has been sidelined since mid-June due to left knee inflammation….
Salazar, who has already won as many games this season as he did in 2013 and 2014 combined, has yet to face Milwaukee in his career.
Danny Salazar (8-5) took the loss for the Indians.
The Milwaukee Brewers have been playing better baseball since their dismal start but the only real goal that seems possible is reaching.500.
Brewers: RHP Kyle Lohse, having one of his worst seasons with a 5-10 record and 6.17 ERA, will make his first start since the All-Star break.
He started the year at Double-A Huntsville and was promoted to Triple-A Nashville after going 8-1 with a 1.73 ERA and 0.849 WHIP in 12 starts and two relief appearances, working 73 innings and striking out 64.
Offensively, it was the same old story Tuesday night in Milwaukee.
