Matthew Perry will NOT attend the Friends reunion
Schwimmer, 49, has clarified that the meeting should not be called as reunion because it’s a tribute to legendary comedy director James Burrows.
Speaking on Friday’s episode of “The Graham Norton Show” he said, “It’s not the “Friends” reunion that everyone is hoping for…I’m going to be introducing them from [London], because I’m doing the play here and can’t be there”.
The bulk of the “Friends” cast is set to reunite in next month’s highly anticipated, yet vaguely described NBC special – but even the beloved sitcom stars don’t know what to expect at the show. Box office success has been evident from a string of comedy and romantic comedy parts, including ‘Bruce Almighty’, ‘Marley & Me’ and ‘We’re the Millers’.
Actor David Schwimmer is sad that his good friend Matthew Perry will not be able to make it for “Friends” reunion.
Matthew Perry ultimately became the first cast member to burst our bubble, saying he’d be in London rehearsing for a play. Burrows is recognized as one of the most influential television directors of the modern age.
He later told E! The show, revolving around the lives of six friends who lived close to each other in Manhattan, made the top ten in the US TV ratings each season it went out, reaching the top spot in the eighth season.
The tribute to Burrows will air on NBC on February 21. “We’re all going to be there honouring someone we love very much – James Burrows, the great director”, he said.
