Mauricio Pochettino hails ‘amazing’ Spurs signing after flawless week ended
It took a 68th minute Heung-Min Son goal to break the dealock between Tottenham Hotspurs and Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in Sunday’s early kick-off.
And the in-form forward says he made the gesture to show his gratitude to everyone for helping him to settle in London.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Pochettino has tipped the former Bayer Leverkusen forward to be a hit in England, and explained why Spurs were so keen to recruit him.
Ben Davies thought he had put Tottenham ahead in the 57th minute when the defender nodded home after Son’s cross-shot was saved by McCarthy, but the goal was disallowed as Kane was clearly offside. “Yes, why not?” the Argentine coach began, as per ESPN.
Tottenham don’t seem to be showing us what they are hoping to do for the rest of this season, failing to score goals and seeming uncomfortable in their defensive structure.
“Son is a player that we followed for a long time”.
“I have been involved in the Europa League and Tottenham are not the first club to be affected by that”.
Tottenham are securing the 9th slot in the Premier League table with 9 points in 6 games.
“Of course there are players who are struggling with injuries and may not play”, said Luzon.
“On the balance of play against City, we were a lot closer this time round”.
However they owe a large debt of gratitude to goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after a stunning save to keep the Eagles out and the help of the far post that denied both Yohan Cabaye and Bakary Sako.
“I’m an experienced manager, I know a good side when I see one – this is a good side”, he said.
“After a week he brought in some very good Korean food for all the players to eat at the training ground”.
“Mauricio Pochettino: “[on facing Palace, Arsenal and Manchester City in the space of a week] They’re three tough games, that is true, but I’m not scared. I’m a big fan of [Harry] Kane, [Nacer] Chadli and [Christian] Eriksen.
Eric Dier, who has been deployed in a defensive midfield role in recent games by Pochettino, echoed his manager’s comments and has been impressed by the improvements made by Palace in the previous year .
