Max Von Sydow cast for Game of Thrones season 6
Production on Season 6 is already underway and von Sydow is filming on set.
In addition to the McShane casting, it was revealed at HBO’s Television Critics Association presentation that the cable channel plans to continue “Game of Thrones” for eight seasons or more.
Under the guise of a three-eyed raven, the mysterious character had only appeared in Bran Stark’s (Isaac Hempstead Wright) visions and dreams since his fall and injury in the series premiere.
Von Sydow is known for his famed feature roles, including The Exorcist and Minority Report, and he will appear in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. However, it’s clear that the show’s producers have clearly recast with the view to securing a bigger name for this pivotal role. Are you excited to see the return of Bran Stark and the Three-Eyed Raven next season?
EW notes that both McShane and Von Sydow will not really see “that much screen time” for Season 6, but their roles are super important to the story.
Von Sydow has an Academy Award nomination for his work in 1987’s “Pelle erobreren” and another for the 2011 film “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”.
