Max von Sydow Joins ‘Game of Thrones’ as Three-Eyed Raven
Production on Season 6 is already underway and von Sydow is filming on set.
A new actor has joined the cast of the popular HBO series, Game of Thrones for season 6.
The Three-Eyed Raven first showed up on Game of Thrones on the Season 4 finale, after Bran Stark, who wasn’t in the last, reached the Weirwood Tree. Bran’s storyline was sidelined for season five, with fans speculating his story will pick up after he has been under the Three Eyed Raven’s tutelage for awhile.
Max von Sydow has officially been cast as the new Three-Eyed Raven, the casting was confirmed earlier today.
Von Sydow has been appearing in films and television series since 1949, with iconic roles in The Seventh Seal, Through a Glass Darkly, The Exorcist, Hannah and Her Sisters, Never Say Never Again, Minority Report, and the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Both actors are not expected to have a lot of screen time next season, but their roles are said to be critical in their own way.
Von Sydow’s involvement is yet another huge scoop for the HBO show, and comes hot on the heels of the arrival of former Deadwood star, Ian McShane.
