Maybe Black Lives Matter protester ‘should have been roughed up’
“Maybe he should have been roughed up, because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing”, Trump said on the Fox News Channel on Sunday morning.
At a Birmingham, Alabama, rally on Saturday – which included a physical altercation between a black protester and several white Trump backers – the 2016 Republican front-runner suggested law enforcement keep an eye on certain Islamic houses of worship which, in his view, could pose terrorist threats. In a discussion on CNN in August he slammed Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders for listening to Black Lives Matter protesters at a rally in Seattle, Washington. CNN could not verify whether the slurs were used.
The Trump campaign didn’t immediately return a request for comment. You know what? That’s between the individual who wants to be an agitator and the people who are there to listen to Mr. Trump.
Trump will continue his campaign stops this coming week and he said he’s got the strength and stamina to keep going. Apparently amazed that supporters of a candidate he came to trash did not like his rant, he said he felt in the presence of a “lynch mob” after he started screaming.
And he defended his use of Twitter, saying he likes the medium “because I can get also my point of view out there, and my point of view is very important to a lot of people that are looking at me”. He was kicked in the stomach, and the chest, both men and women. Diamond’s video appears to show white men kicking and punching Southall. “That was their whole concern”, Southall said. Do you feel Trump’s campaign should have handled things differently.
Trump rallies have been the scene of violence or aggressive behavior in the past.
She declined to elaborate on Trump’s reaction to the confrontation.
A video – which lit up social media by the afternoon – captured the activist on the ground being pushed, shoved, and kicked by Trump’s supporters.
“And as an attorney and a mentor I’m going to do everything I can, As a matter of fact I’m going to investigate whether or not Mr. Trump has committed a crime”.
In response, Trump yelled, “Get him the hell out of here” and the crowd of 3,000 started cheering before booing the protesters.
At least one attendee shouted “all lives matter” as the protester was eventually led out by police officers on the scene.
Southall said he has not decided whether to sue the people who beat him.
“They were too busy trying to get me the f- out of there”. I think they’re there to just disrupt. One of the protesters, Mercutio Southall went up a little further and so they tackled him down.
Edwards said the department tried to contact him later Saturday at several numbers but could not reach him.
He also took that opportunity to poke fun at other candidates.
Trump surprisingly has been successful with that strategy, but it’s not Trump who worries me.
