Mayne Pharma Expanding N.C. Manufacturing Capabilities
Mayne Pharma, which already operates a big production plant in Greenville, is going to add as many as 110 jobs as part of a $65 million expansion plan. Numerous state and local allies worked with EDPNC and N.C. Commerce in supporting Mayne Pharma’s expansion plans. Expansion plans include 126,000 square feet of new FDA-compliant space for use in large-scale oral and solid-dose manufacturing. The new positions will include scientists, quality assurance specialists, and manufacturing operators, just to name a few.
A Greenville pharmaceutical plant is expanding, adding 110 jobs over the next five years. The company now has 350 employees in Greenville.
Salaries will average around $60,000 a year.
U.S. Generic Products, which develops, manufactures, markets and distributes generic drug products.
“Once operational, we can take on new and larger products, specifically those that rely upon our company’s drug-delivery and potent handling expertise”.
Mayne Pharma will construct the new facility on a campus that houses Mayne Pharma’s products business, along with its contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) business, Metrics Contract Services.
Mayne, which is based in Australia, has maintained a presence in Greenville since 2012 when it acquired Metrics for an initial payment of $105 million, plus up to $15 million in contingency payments based on future performance.
