Mayor of Juneau found dead in a home in capital
“Could be natural. Could be an accident”.
“The man who found Greg Fisk in his Juneau residence and called 911 was Fisk’s adult son”, the department said in a statement.
The body was found “just inside his front room area”, Johnson told KTUU in an interview at police headquarters.
She and King said they knew Fisk long before he’d even thought about running for mayor, but that it was only a matter of time before he’d earn the title. “We want to make sure when we are done we can tell the family and the public what happened”.
“Sometimes I’d get stuck on the landing yelling at him about some issue, going back and forth complaining about something at the top of our lungs”, remembered Schlichting.
“We’re not sure if (the injuries) were sustained due to an assault or a fall”. Kalwara did affirm that nothing at the scene suggested there was gunshot or drugs involved, which means that there is no evidence to say that the mayor killed himself.
Fisk was discovered dead inside his home on Kennedy Street on Monday afternoon.
But police spokesman Erann Kalwara said she could not comment on the nature of the injuries Fisk suffered – and added it is not clear what caused the injuries but that nothing has been ruled out. Suicide has been ruled out.
Ian found the body of his father at the home in downtown Juneau, where he lived alone. “And his father, the mayor, was in the front room”, Kalwara said.
Fisk had a steep background in the fishing industry and was also working as a fisheries consultant, the Dispatch News said.
Juneau Police Department Chief Bryce Johnson assured everyone that the details of the investigation would be released as they are found.
“We’re very careful on every death investigation”. Cops haven’t said much about the 70-year-old politician’s cause of death, except to advise reporters that rumors he’d been assaulted are just “speculation” at this point.
” KTOO reported that at one point Monday night, police were seen inside Fisk’s home with flashlights”.
