Mazda taking orders for 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Roadster | NYC Today
Mazda is back with the original roadster, 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Roadster, the hip auto loved by everyone.
Consumers will be pleased by the extra room, the reconfigured engine, and sleek new design of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, a vehicle that is sure to turn heads as it drives down the street.
The new Mazda Miata MX-5 roadster 2016 model is slightly smaller than the previous model but it is more capacious.
Rod McLaughlin, the line manager for Mazda in North America shared a few more details about this auto. McLaughlin said that the new auto has all the features that people would desire. Mazda engineers have done a great job in managing the design aspects and improving the style of the 2016 Mazda roadster. With its 45mm shorter overhangs, Mazda designers have done wonders with their KODO design philosophy. The hood height has been reduced by 28 mm and the driver seat is lower by 20mm compared to the previous model.
The 2016 model weighs 150 pounds less than its predecessor. Mazda has ditched foam seats for high-tension cloth mesh for additional comfort. Compared to earlier model of Miata with 167 horsepower, the current model will have 155 HP engine.
And unlike a growing lineup of 2016 sports cars that have sacrificed engine power and appeal for practicality in today’s market, the MX-5 remains a force to be reckoned with.
The newer auto has improved fuel efficiency. The six-speed manual and automatic transmission offers an easy ride. The manual Miata MX5 sport offers 34 mpg on long drive and 27 mpg in city drive. A hands-on road test from SlashGear told the whole story, as writer Chris Davies stressed that the new, fourth-generation MX-5 Miata is the first that doesn’t feel like an evolution of the first-generation model.
With a base price just below $25,000, Mazda’s latest 2016 edition Miata still possesses the simplicity in form its famous for, and still boast lots of fun. Mazda has additional $860 in handling charges. The Club trim ($28,600) is, curiously, the only one where buyers can add the $3,400 Club Brembo/BBS Package, which includes Brembo front brakes, 17-inch BBS wheels, a rear bumper skirt, and side sill extensions.
