McCain Goes Beastmode On Trump Over Putin Praise: He’s A Putin Propagandist
John McCain blasted Donald Trump Monday for his repeated praise of Russian president Vladimir Putin, arguing that the Republican presidential front-runner is providing propaganda for a “KGB apparatchik murderer”.
But Stephanopoulos pressed Trump about the murder allegations against Putin. Do you know the names of the reporters that he’s killed because I’ve been, you know, you’ve been hearing this but I haven’t seen the name. “Well, I think our country does plenty of killing also”, the Republican candidate responded. But I’ll tell you what: If Putin likes me, and if he thinks that I’m a good, smart person – which I hope he believes, you know, I am.
But what if Trump actually becomes president, and the two outsize men meet as diplomatic partners?
While explaining Russia’s position on the Syrian settlement, the president added: “First, we asked the people: this way or not, do you agree or not”. Nemtsov had just told the Western press that in his eyes, Russian Federation was drowning under Putin’s leadership and was on its way to becoming a fascist state, and he condemned what he called the “mad, aggressive and deadly policy of war against Ukraine”.
The next morning Trump returned the praise on the same talk show in which he accused the United States of killings.
Trump’s rivals on Sunday criticized the developer for appearing to embrace the Russian leader’s praise.
Trump was delighted. He called Putin’s remarks “a great honor”, especially the part about Trump being “brilliant”.
“Extremely sad”, Trump said. I think it’s frightful.
Trump contrasted his potential friendship with Putin with Obama, whom he lamented has “never gotten along” with the Russian leader. I haven’t seen the name. His troops have since pushed on to annex the Crimea and join Syrian autocrat Bashar Assad to fight the Islamic State and Syrian rebels, some of whom are backed by the United States.
Trump opined that Putin had not “stood with a gun or taken the blame or admitted that he’s killed”. He also applauded Putin as “a leader, unlike, you know, what we have in this country”. I think much of what he says are lies or gross distortion of reality, Sanders said.
He said: “He’s always denied it. It’s never been proven that he’s killed anybody”. I don’t know that he killed reporters.
However, Rojansky says that in case Trump were elected, Putin might apply his well-honed skill of reading his partners and exploiting their weaknesses. No, I wouldn’t. I would never kill them.
“He is a strong leader”, the businessman added.
212 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney took to Twitter to point out “Important distinction: thug Putin kills journalists and opponents; our presidents kill terrorists and enemy combatants”.
