McCoy in Good Company with 4th Pro Bowl
The former third overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, McCoy leads the Buccaneers this season with 7.5 sacks, the fourth-most by a defensive tackle in the NFL this year. 895 yards and five total touchdowns through 12 games isn’t bad, but he hasn’t been crushing it. And now, his knee is what’s crushed.
WR Robert Woods caught four passes for 44 yards, but left the game with a groin injury in the fourth quarter and he was placed on season-ending injured reserve. So far this season McCoy has rushed for 825 yards on 203 carries.
QB Tyrod Taylor set a team single-game rushing record for a quarterback with 79 yards, and is 27 yards shy of setting the all-time one season record of 476 yards, set by Doug Flutie in 1999.
The honor will be his third consecutive selection, with his first Pro Bowl appearance coming in 2011.
He is one of only nine players in franchise history to be voted to four Pro Bowls, and the first to do so in four straight seasons since Derrick Brooks (10 straight from 1997-2006). “He’s the best interior defensive lineman in the league and I’m proud of his achievement”.
