McDonald’s All-Day Breakfast Happy Meals could soon be a thing
And the fast-food chain could be distributing the meal option nationally as close as next year, if it becomes successful, the site says.
McDonald’s might have accidentally struck out big time with their Happy Meal activity trackers, but their next announced change for the kiddos sounds like a sure victor: breakfast Happy Meals.
McDonald’s said Friday it will begin testing breakfast Happy Meals next week in Tulsa, Okla.
The breakfast Happy Meal is available with either two McGriddles cakes – that’s bacon and cheese sandwiched inside two pancakes – or an egg and cheese McMuffin.
If you thought McDonald’s breakfast couldn’t get any better, you’d be wrong.
If igniting sales at any cost wasn’t the top priority, then Mickey D’s would have probably unveiled healthier options for kids’ breakfast that jibe with several well-received major changes undertaken this year to enhance ingredient quality.
One of the company’s biggest moves since Easterbrook took over was the rollout of an all-day breakfast menu in the USA last fall. It’s not yet clear what affect that has had. Although U.S. sales have been up at established locations in the last four quarters, McDonald’s hasn’t said how much of that has come from an uptick in customer visits, versus factors such as higher pricing.
There’s been a serious arms race in the fast food industry with all of the insane menu items that chains like Taco Bell, Burger King, and Pizza Hut have released so far this year, so the fact that McDonald’s is actually doing something relatively normal and most likely profitable is refreshing AF. At certain locations, hash browns will reportedly be an option too.
If they catch on, McDonald’s could offer breakfast Happy Meals nationwide next year.
