McDonald’s Salad Worse Than a Double Big Mac
“[They] have the choice to have a salad with or without dressing, select a burger without the bun, choose their chicken protein crispy or grilled”, said spokesperson Adam Grachnik in an email to CBC News. BEFORE the dressings are added, the Greek salad has 280 calories, and the Caesar salad has 520 calories. The salad (with the accompanying asiago dressing) boasts 730 calories, 53 grams of fat and 1400 mg of sodium.
“I applaud McDonald’s for expanding their menu, but this is disappointing”, says Manhattan dietitian Tanya Zuckerbrot. Shoot. You gotta have fries with a Big Mac.
This means it contains more salt, fat and calories than the Golden Arches favourite, the Double Big Mac, which has 680 calories, 38g of fat and 1,340mg of sodium.

“You’re getting nearly half of your caloric needs for the day and 50% of your sodium intake in just one of these salads”, marvels Zuckerbrot.
McDonald’s has been test marketing a new line of kale salads at its restaurants in Canada as part of the fast-food giant’s effort to promote a healthier menu. That’s where they get you.
Lindzon further added that McDonald’s lightest chicken kale salad is also not a nutritional victor too.
Not all of the burger chain’s salads are salt and calorie bombs, however.
That’s right! Those customers trying to be healthy, chomping down on a blend of kale, baby spinach, and romaine lettuce are ingesting more calories, fat, and sodium than the chain’s greasy signature dish!
