McDonald’s serves breakfast all day now – but maybe not hash browns
There’s evidence of water on Mars and McDonald’s is now serving breakfast all day – it’s all happening, people.
Starting today, you’ll be able to get your breakfast fix all day long. Breakfast used to end at 10:30 a.m.
Now that McDonald’s has served breakfast all day long on its first day on Tuesday, what are customers saying?
McDonald’s is badly in need of a boost as it tries to work its way out of two-year earnings slump amidst stiffening competition from fast food upstarts and changing American tastes. Tuesday morning, the restaurant Tweeted: “Shouts to everyone tryna offer breakfast all day…shoot your shot”. A few breakfast items – like the McGriddle or bagels or Steak and Egg Burritos – aren’t included in the all-day offerings, while the availability of others will vary by region. In March, McDonald’s began to add food-preparation space to restaurants in San Diego, and later in Nashville, to accommodate all-day breakfast.
Hash browns, a McDonald’s breakfast staple, won’t be available at all restaurants because they are made with the same fryers as the french fries.
Restaurants have broadly shown more interest in breakfast.
Zafiris said it will be interesting to compare numbers once an entire week or more has gone by with the all-day breakfast menu in place. She opted for hot cakes and sausage and an Egg McMuffin instead. Also, new computer kiosks allow you customize your burger with different condiments, vegetable toppings, and cheeses.
“We are excited to offer All Day Breakfast to our customers, as we know they’ve been asking for it”, said Mitch Hruby, McDonald’s MAC Inc.co-op president. Come to find out, the whole thing was just a big rumor.
