Medical complete as Arsenal feel the effects of Man United’s Pogba deal
Juventus have seemingly won the race to sign £79million Gonzalo Higuain, after the Italian champions activated his astronomical release clause that expires later this month according to Sky Sport.
Fans had been hoping it would be the 28-year-old, who has become one of the games most lethal strikers from his time at Real Madrid and in Naples.
However, according to Sky Italia, Juventus are poised to land the Argentina worldwide, although the two clubs remain in negotiations for a fee.
Diego Maradona says Gonzalo Higuain’s imminent move to Juventus is painful, but he has blamed the transfer on “fat cats of business”.
Arsenal, like Liverpool, had been heavily interested in Higuain and were linked with a shocking swap deal involving Olivier Giroud and the Napoli striker.
Higuain could now be officially unveiled as a Juventus player this weekend, with terms on a four-year deal thought to have already been verbally agreed between the player and club.
Higuain scored 38 goals in all competitions for Napoli last season, who finished runners-up to Juventus in Serie A.
The most expensive buy in Serie A was Hernan Crespo, as Lazio spent 55 million euros ($60.3 million) to bring him in from Parma in 2000.
