Medical examiner: Boy brain dead after Wisconsin house fire
He said a 9-year-old girl, Jenna Martin, escaped from the fire unhurt after Natalie woke her up and told her to run and get help.
Authorities say they don’t expect to file charges against the parents of three children who died in an eastern Wisconsin house fire. Their go fund me page says ten year old Ben is fighting for his life.
The fire at 507 Western Ave. was first discovered Tuesday night by the 11-year-old, who yelled “Fire!” Ryan Passini says he will update the page with conditions and other things relaying to the family. The 11-year-old then tried to save two others, ages 7 and 10.
Seven-year-old Carter died at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
When asked at the news conference about the children’s parents, Riffel said only that they were following up on reports that the parents were at a church Bible study at the time of the fire. Riffel said there’s no sense, however, that the fire was set intentionally, but was simply accidental. Riffel said the children were members of the same family and all lived together in the home.
The fire is being investigated with the help of the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Smoke alarms were working in the home.
Residents in the Sheboygan Falls community have begun delivering food and clothing to the family, as several of the family’s belongings were destroyed in the fire.
