Medical miracle as doctors reattach toddler’s decapitated HEAD after horrific
This might sound unbelievable, but it is real and considered a “miracle”: Doctors from a hospital in Brisbane, Australia, successfully reattached the head of a toddler to his neck after it was internally severed following a auto crash.
She described the surgery’s success as as “a miracle”, as did the doctor who performed it.
The Sun reported that 16-month-old Jackson Taylor was riding in the auto with his mother and 9-year-old sister when they collided with another vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man at about 70 miles per hour.
As you can probably imagine, this kind of injury would be fatal to many. “The second I pulled him out I knew that his neck was broken”.
Little Jackson Taylor is now on the mend after surgeons miraculously reattached his head to his neck. “And if they did and they were resuscitated, they may never move or breathe again”. The spinal surgeon’s team started by attaching a halo device to Jackson’s skull, so that it will be held completely still during the operation. Needless to say, Jaxon is extremely lucky – it’s pretty unusual to make a full recovery, which he is set to do in eight weeks after the “Halo” brace comes off.
Jackson now appears well and is expected to go home in a few days.
The toddler was with his 9 year old sister and his mother when the accident happened on the 15th September. Specialist staff pulled off what was thought to be impossible.
After that, he will be able to live a normal and healthy life. 7 News reporter Katrina Blowers has the details.
