Medline issues recall of acetaminophen tablets
Medline Industries have voluntarily recalled one lot of Acetaminophen tablets after it was incorrectly labeled. The Acetaminophen 500mg, Tab 100/BT (OTC20101) has been found to be mislabeled displaying “Acetaminophen 325mg” (OTC10101) instead of “Acetaminophen 500mg”.
The products included in the recall are bottles of Medline acetaminophen tablets labeled 325 mg, 100 pills per bottle. The company said the error is not easily identifiable by a consumer-or even a prescriber. See the firm Press Release for further details.
Acetaminophen is an over the counter oral medication used to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains and reduces fever. The recalled product can be identified by the lot number denoted above, the medicine item number (OTC20101, NDC#: 53329-641-30), and the expiration date (May, 2018).
The tablets being recalled (lot #45810) were distributed from June 12 through September 18, 2015. Till now, the company has not received any negative report due to the mislabeling. Distributors, retailers, and consumers having this product should not sell or use the product and return into Medline Industries.
